Geelong Revival 2025
Festival Guide

Thinking about making a weekend of it with the kids? You’re in luck! The Geelong Revival Motoring Festival isn’t just about engines and horsepower – it’s a full family experience with loads of fun activities to keep even the littlest car fans smiling from ear to ear, with most of the event FREE to enjoy. Here’s our guide to planning a family-friendly weekend you won’t forget.

Kick Things Off at Engines & Beats

Start your weekend at Friday on the Hill, where classic cars meet family-friendly vibes. From 4pm, Upper Hearne Parade transforms into a buzzing hub of:

  • Cool cars from local enthusiasts
  • Live DJ tunes thanks to Bay 93.9 Geelong
  • Ticket giveaways and free fun for all ages

This is a great free event for kids to marvel at shiny cars and chat with friendly owners who are always happy to talk engines.

Slot Cars: Big Fun in Miniature

Introduce the kids to a good old-fashioned thrill with free slot car racing at the Bay 93.9 Hub on Steampacket Gardens. These electric-powered mini cars zip around the track and are as exciting for adults as they are for little ones. It’s fun, fast and totally free!

Giant Games and Great Giveaways

Bay 93.9 Geelong will be adding even more action to Steampacket Gardens each day with:

  • Free giant games like Connect Four and Jenga
  • Awesome giveaways and street promos
  • Great tunes to keep the good vibes going

It’s a perfect for a pit stop between attractions or just to let the kids burn off some energy.

Dress to Impress at the Revival Fashion Awards

Held at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club, the Revival Fashion Awards are a fun, fabulous way to celebrate vintage flair. There’s even a kids category, so let the little ones dress up and strut their stuff on stage. It’s free to enter and there are great prizes up for grabs!

Classic Carnival Rides & Games

Over at Eastern Beach Lawn, the fun keeps rolling with pay-as-you-go carnival rides and sideshow games. Think dodgem cars, kiddie rides, clown heads, target games and more.

There’s something to entertain kids of all ages – and maybe win a prize or two!

Pack a Picnic and Watch the Sprints

One of the most iconic ways to enjoy the festival is to picnic on The Hill. Since 1956, families have gathered to watch the ¼ mile sprints from the grassy hillside above Ritchie Boulevard. Bring a picnic blanket, some snacks and let the kids cheer on their favourite cars from a safe and scenic spot. For those wanting to get closer to the racing action and meet the drivers, Family Pit Passes are available for purchase.

More to Explore Along the Waterfront

Still got energy to burn? The Geelong Waterfront has you covered.

  • Playgrounds are dotted along the foreshore
  • The iconic seabaths are perfect for a quick dip
  • Ice cream, snacks and treats are around every corner
  • Ride the vintage carousel or waterfront ferris wheel for beautiful views
  • View the giant floating Christmas tree located near the carousel
  • Stroll along the famous bollard trail for a fun walking adventure with great photo ops

So whether your little ones are budding car fans or if they’re just along for the ice cream, the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival has something for the whole family. Pack your bags, round up the kids and get ready for a weekend of fun, fashion, food and fast cars. See you trackside!
