Renault Australia is preparing for another year in partnership with the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival and this year – in conjunction with Rex Gorell Renault – it is kicking it up a gear.
“Renault Australia is thrilled to share the Megane Trophy V6 with motorsport fans at this year’s Geelong Revival,” said Renault Australia Managing Director Mr. Andrew Moore.
While Renault Australia arranges for the Renault Megane V6 to tear down the tarmac in the headline event, Dean Canto is the man prepared to make it happen.
Dean Canto is a household name in Australian motorsport for years. Winning a number of Supercars and GT events and currently co-driving with Prodrive Racing Australia, Canto will be sure to show the crowds just what the Megane Trophy V6 can do.
Canto will run the race version of the Renault Megane R.S. road car down the raceway of the revival’s headline event: the national sprint. He will drive it four times on the Saturday and Sunday.
“The Megane Trophy V6 is a high-speed racing machine. Its acceleration, cornering and braking performance is outstanding and I can’t wait to put it through its paces at the year’s Geelong Revival” Dean Canto says.
“We are thrilled Canto agreed to be one of our drivers at this year’s Geelong Revival and are just as excited to announce that this year our 2017 Renault brand ambassador Alex Peroni will also take to the raceway” says Mark Manns, Renault Australia’s National Service Manager.
Renault ambassador Alex Peroni will be joining the team, driving the New-look Clio R.S. as it was made to be driven. Peroni is a young Australian racing driver from Tasmania competing in the Formula Renault Eurocup; the F1 feeder program that has featured the likes of Alain Prost, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
With Alex Peroni behind the wheel of the Clio R.S. and Dean Canto putting pedal to the metal in the Megane Trophy V6, the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival is a weekend not to be missed.
The Renault F1 Simulator will be set up in the Lifestyle Zone, providing motorsport fans the opportunity to be put to the test in a time-trial, racing against the clock.
This action-packed motoring festival, held on Geelong’s picturesque waterfront is an event not to be missed. Take pole position for the historic quarter-mile sprints as more than 300 classic cars and motorcycles sprint down the foreshore.
