1977 Mazda Capella Rotary

This Mazda Capella Rotary was purchased from it’s original owner in 2005 with 94,000km on the clock. It was originally purchased from Mazda House, Lakemba.
Sporting a 1600cc engine and a three speed auto, it served it’s current owner well as a learner car.

As Ben grew, so did his Mazda.
It’s currently running a 13b Bridgeport, running series 4 Rx7 6 port rotors fed by an Injection Perfection twin 50mm throttlebody and 4x Series 5 Rx7 550cc injectors.

The car also has a twin fogger 150hp wet nitrous oxide system, which Ben rarely gets the opportunity to utilise. It’s cooled by a PWR radiator and oil cooler and controlled by an extensively modified Megasquirt Ms2 Fuel injection computer.
Power travels through a series Rx7 Turbo gearbox and custom tail shaft to fully restored 13×7 Rebel wheels with Yokohama Advan A048 tyres.
The interior is mostly standard, with a re-skinned dash and multiple gaugues to keep an eye on the engine.

The body is completely original, apart from the front and rear wheel arches.

Fully registered and road worthy, the car has competed in the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival since it’s reintroduction, as well as many supersprints, motorkhanas and drag days.
