Targa Florio Partnership

Australia’s largest classic motoring event has teamed up with Targa Florio Australian Tribute to put on the biggest and best Geelong Revival Motoring Festival this November.

The special partnership will attract many more international competitors, fans and global attention, with several Targa Florio participants signing up for this year’s classic ¼ mile sprints and hillclimb event at the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival.

Scott Pigdon, Motorsport Director of the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival explained that many Targa Florio participants are adding the Revival event to their itinerary as a ‘taster’, before Stage One of the open road regularity kicks off in Geelong the following week.

“We are really excited to have more classic motorsport on show in our own backyard and coinciding with this year’s Geelong Revival Motoring Festival.

“Targa Florio is a prestigious event that attract competitors from all over the world and we feel privileged to add more unique cars to our already impressive list of classic vehicles coming to this year’s event,” said Mr Pigdon.
Before Formula 1 racing, the Targa Florio was the most difficult and challenging race for cars on earth, attracting the great racing car drivers and the most important international car makers, such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Bugatti, Lancia, Maserati, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche.

Targa Florio takes place from 29th November- 3rd December 2017, the week following the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival (24th-26th November).

Beyond the historic quarter mile sprints and all new hillclimb, the Geelong Revival plays host to a classic motorshow, vintage fashion and caravans, a motor expo, demonstrations and much more all weekend.

Event organisers expect 70,000 visitors across the weekend, with over 1,000 cars and bikes on display and 300 vehicles competing in racing.

Tickets and race entries are still available at geelongrevival.com.au
